The Brazilian Northeast is internationally recognized for hosting cities that carry the mark of historical and cultural heritage of humanity. The states of Pernambuco and Bahia were pioneers in receiving the inheritance of the colonial architecture of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, brought by Portuguese and Dutch and preserved until the present time.
Pelourinho, Bahia's historic center, and the baroque architecture of the old buildings of Olinda and Recife were the main inspirations and references in the realization of the Vila do Forró project (I took the word CTN). The color of the facade of the buildings, the balconies with typical colonial design, the iron poles with lamps and the sidewalks similar to the period are present in this set.
The signature of the project is by the plastic artist and advertising Márcio Pucci, along with the architects and designers of the MX15 Visual Communication and Dynamic Stands. "We wanted to show some of the baroque colonial architecture, make the environment more pleasant, interactive and that promotes a bit of memory and nostalgia for the Northeastern residents of São Paulo," Pucci says.
It was about two months with more than 30 professionals involved, directly and indirectly, in the processes of joinery, locksmithing, painting, electrical and visual communication.
In the structural aspect, elements such as galvanized carbon steel, anti-flare plates and pink drywall reinforce scenography. In the artistic part, there is a decoration with candles, vases, flower pots, patchwork blankets, calico curtains, cutouts of the figure of Lampião and Maria Bonita for the bathrooms, as well as rustic wood boards with the designs of quitutes sold in the kiosks. The idea is that the space be interactive and bring together in one place architecture, music and gastronomy typical of the Brazilian northeast, transforming it into a new cultural and tourist point of São Paulo. Shows of forró bands bands, university and electronic, besides gastronomic festivals, exhibitions and presentations of dance and theater are to happen in this space.
